I Thank God... Day 20

I met my Mother-in-Love Judy
twenty-seven years ago today.

My Lowell invited me over to his house to meet his family and celebrate his birthday. What he didn't tell me was that they were having a family reunion! Well, sort of. All I know is that there were a whole lot of people in that little house! ~smile~ Talk about awkward for a 16 year old girl. Everyone wanted to meet the little girlfriend. I wish I was still the "little" anything. Ah well, that's another post and another project!

Well, his momma decided that she liked me. She really talked me up to Lowell. Believe me, that's a great way to start a relationship with your mother-in-law. Of course, I had no idea she was my mother-in-law at the time. That would come almost five years later. The interesting thing is that almost from the beginning, she insisted that I call her Mother. I called my mother Mom. In fact, I cannot remember calling her Judy. She is a very loving lady. She just adopted me into the family lickety-split when she met me.

Consequently, I've had a mother-in-love all these years. I'm not her son's wife. I'm her daughter. She takes pride in the fact that my dark hair and eyes make people think that I'm her daughter when we're out. She has certainly done all that she can to love me and help me to love my man, her son. She is a gem to me. I thank God that she made a decision almost twelve years ago now to come and live in our little town and be our hands-on Grandma. It's been a great gift to our family. She is a blessing to us.

Thank You God!

  2. What a sweet post about your mother-in-love! :) You really are blessed! My MIL passed away before we were married a year, so that's something I've never known! I have a wonderful mother though!

Thanks for writing me back!

This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
