Cherry jam,
mulberry-raspberry-blueberry jam,
apricot jam,
strawberry jam,
blueberry jam,
peach jam....
Wonder what God will provide next? Be it a good tree in the yard, a good friend or a good sale, God has blessed us with fruit. I've blessed my family with jam. After finding that all the jams available at our local store have high fructose corn syrup in them, I'm committed to making homemade. I'm hoping to find more peaches and some plums on sale. I'm also planning to make grape jelly, apple jelly, apple butter, and pear butter in the coming weeks.

Just popping in to tell you how lovely I thought your post was! And so trueful!
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the crab apple tree in my yard and they are growing so sweetly! I love the crab apple jelly because it amazes me how you take a greenish little ole apple and process it and it turns out a brilliant red! I know I should have studied hard in chemistry class! LOL
The funny thing about my crab apple tree is that they graft them onto a stock tree and somehow my tree has grown to be Half crab apple and Half regular small apple - so I take the small , knotty apples and cut them all up and wash them and tuck them away in the crockpot to let it do all the work. Then I taste the next morning and add the sugar and some cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg. After it cools I freeze them in the little freezer bags. Then on one of those snowy , blue blazing cold days -pull them out and the flour and make homemade fried apple pies! Last winter they were delicious! :)
Thanks for letting me visit with you! Have a great day!
Linda the sewing granny!
