Minutes or Hours?

I am, by nature, an introvert.
God, by nature, likes to stretch us beyond our comfort levels.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

I, by nature, wanted one child.
God, by nature, gave me four children!
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

I, by nature, want to create.
God, by nature, wants to create.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!

God understands your many responsibilities, the many things that pull on you as a woman. You must ask Him to help you find the minutes here and there. You must ask Him to show you how to organize your projects in a way that will work for you.

For example, when I’m working on a project, I will often pin or sticky note a note to myself to tell me what the next step is, so that I can go back to it without rethinking it. I also have several projects going at once. So, when I am sewing, I try to do all the cutting out that I can at once. The next time, I try to do all the marking I can at once. Next time, it’s all the pinning I can do at once. Then, all the sewing I can do at once. Then all the pressing. I’m sure you get the picture.

I want blocks of time. God gives me minutes.

I’m trying to learn to discipline myself to use those minutes more wisely.

  3. Hello, I just stopped over for a sweet peak of your blog. I so agree with the wanting to create. I ask the Lord daily to help me with my days and using my time wisely. But as I have gotten older I feel like I must have my tea at three a bit of quiet time. I also love to sew, but most of it is crafting and such. I have made all my drapes. But my favorite thing to sew is aprons.
It was a nice visit, hope to see you on my blog. But I will check back.
    Blessings, Roxy

  7. Good reminder! Sometimes I find myself not getting much of anything done at all on busy days because I don't have a solid block of time to work, so I need to work on making the most of the minutes I can find here and there.

Thanks for sharing with Old-Fashioned Friday! :)

  9. This is all so true. It often feels like there's not enough time in a day, but if we take time to seek God first, He'll give us the time for what is really important.

Thank you for participating in Faithful Fridays! :)

    God bless,
    Joy :)

  11. Thank you for your kind comment, Joy. It was a very busy weekend. I woke up Saturday morning with one goal in mind. Finish cutting out and sewing a new dress.

    It didn't happen.
But, I was there for my family and friends who needed me. I only worked on the dress for a few minutes.

I am still clothed even though I didn't finish. Serving my family was more important.

    Blessings,
    Laura

  17. Wow---yeah, that one really hit home! I have such a problem with wanting to have these perfect blocks of perfect quiet and zero interruptions in order to write. I could have tons of books out by now if I'd manage my time more wisely---using my minutes instead of waiting for hours. Thanks for the good word!

    1. I've got to follow my own advice! I can't even decide what to write about let alone start writing. Ugh.

    2. Tonight at midnight starts Camp NaNoWriMo! I just visited the site and set my goal... I'll spend the first evening writing out an outline. Have you tried outlining? Sometimes that really helps you get your thoughts in order so you have a better idea of where you're going. If you think of your book as one great big essay and apply all those prewriting techniques, it sometimes becomes less daunting!

    3. It makes sense to look at it as a big essay. If only I could think what to write about!

Thank you so much for "talking back" to me!

I read all comments and appreciate them.
Please make sure I have your email if you want me to respond or pray for you.

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
