When Mom Falls Apart...

When mom falls apart...
dishes pile up...
laundry piles up...
messes pile up...
supplies run out....

Such is the state of my home. Sick day three and on the mend after a nasty little bout with the flu Friday.

Do I do everything around here? Oh no! I have lots of help. That's just it, though. I have help. When it comes down to it, I'm the one who makes sure things get done. I haven't even felt well enough to tell anyone to do anything. Add to this the many hours we all put in this week at the restaurant working to take care of the collectors at the convention, and we're all worn out. No one felt like doing anything.

Not much of a Father's Day for my husband. In fact, my daughter, Emily, officially rescheduled Father's Day for next Sunday. We want to give him a good day with the honor he's due. Today feels like snippets and scraps. Ah well. I hope he'll feel our love anyway.

Life is full of making the best of the circumstances...something I've not always done well. I am learning.

May God bless you with peace, hope, and good health.
In Jesus' Name,
Laura

  3. Sorry that you haven't been feeling well. I know exactly what you mean about things not getting down when mom is down. Us moms do tend to keep the home moving in the right direction. Hope you all rested and ready to get back at it soon!

  5. Indeed, everyone realizes just how much Mom does when Mom is able to do what she usually does! I do hope that you are able to recover quickly, and just take it one day at a time... the housework will get done, but make sure you get enough rest for a complete recovery ... we moms are so hard on ourselves, but sometimes our bodies just need a break! Praying for you dear friend :)

  10. Sorry to hear y'all have been sick! I do love the idea of "rescheduling" big days like Father's Day until they can be celebrated well. I hope next weekend is less sick and more fun! :)

  12. Being sick is the pits and you feel awful about it as a wife and mother. It's a wonderful way though for the children to learn what it means to care for the sick :) Thank you so much for coming by my new link-up, Faithful at Home Fridays, you blessed me with such encouragement being there!

  13. You're so right Sarah! I was glad to visit.

Thanks so much Sue. I'm feeling much better.

Lauren, I remember doing it one year with Christmas. I had been admitted to the hospital unexpectedly. We got to enjoy it late, but without the stress.

Thank you, Terri. I am improving daily.

Blessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

  14. Rescheduling sounds like a great idea. Its always good to be flexible. Take care so you don't relapse. Hugs from a successful ex-home schooling mom.

Thanks for writing me back!

This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
