My Daybook August 3, 2015

Join us at The Simple Woman!
Dear Ladies,
Good day to you! I am honored that you are interested in my daybooks. I find it interesting to look back at some of the earlier entries and enjoy the memories or thank God for what He's brought us through. That really is the point you know, being thankful because He always does bring us through. What is He bringing you through? If you'd like me to pray for you, please leave a comment below or e-mail me at lauraofharvestlane at gmail dot com. Now, for this week's entry....

Outside my window...
It's dark. I'm writing this late Sunday night. My dear readers know that Mondays are my busy driving days. I want to be sure I don't miss our visit. It's been very hot today. I do hope the air conditioner in the car can keep up tomorrow. ~smile~

I am thinking...
I need to finalized last year's school records and continue to plan for the coming year.

I am thankful...
God has made some breakthroughs in my heart and taught me more about forgiveness and releasing past hurts. Believe it or not, my little dog Penny is someone I've had to forgive. I had such high expectations that she would be like the Dachshund I had growing up. I had to forgive her for not being like I wanted her to be. I'm learning to understand her and "love" her for who she is.

In the kitchen...
I'm going to put a pot of pinto beans on to cook tomorrow for supper. Bean burritos with homemade refried beans are very convenient when we have evening meetings.

I am wearing...
my nightgown. I should be in bed!

I am creating...
my dress. That's about it. I should be able to share a photo by next week if all goes well. ~smile~

I am going...
East side West side all around the town... tomorrow won't be as bad as last week though. I spent over a hundred and twenty dollars on gas last week! I'm sure Penny's going to want a nice long walk.

I am wondering...
how to do it all and do it better in less time.

I am reading...

I am hoping...
to post several reviews this week.

I am looking forward to...
Christmas!

I am learning...
more about the time of Moses in Egypt and about the Exodus.

Around the house...
I've got the general cleaning up that always needs to be done after a busy weekend. I also need to do some  a lot of laundry. I can't say how much I'll get done, but I must make progress.

I am pondering...
and praying for breakthrough for someone I love deeply.

A favorite quote for today...
"Tada!" Liz Curtis Higgs

One of my favorite things...

A few plans for the rest of the week:
preparing for next school year, sewing my dress, a day of fun with my kids Wednesday if all goes well. We didn't get a summer break this year.

A peek into my day...

May the God of Shalom peace,
nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing lacking
bless you as you seek to love Jesus
with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
Laura

And once again, I enjoyed today's entry so much. They are so simple, yet so encouraging and make me smile. It's as if we were sitting across the table from one another sipping a cup of tea as you tell me about your day.

Praising God that He has moved you to record your life in such a sweet and precious way.

    Blessed to visit today! :-)

  8. Oh, Monday is finished. How did it go? That is lots of driving! And here I thought I did a lot...except this week I am staying home unless the food runs out or its bible study night or fishing with my husband! LOL I'm reading about Moses too! I'm on chapter 3? 4? I know the Exodus from my growing up years, but haven't read it as an adult. Definitely new understanding 30 years later! :: wink ::

  12. It was not too bad this week Jess, thanks for asking. God is changing my heart about all the driving. I'm glad I have family to drive for.

I will be reviewing a new book in a couple weeks called "Until my Name is Known". It's all about Exodus. You'll want to check it out.

Thanks for your comment, blessings, Laura

  17. I just love your day book entries. I've really got to know you more through looking at a glimpse into your day. May God continue to richly bless you and all that you put your hands to do. You are just such a sweet and giving mama!

Ps...I ordered my Well Planned Day planner! I can't wait to get it and I hope I did it right so you get your portion too! :-)

  18. Oh Amy! I hope you like your planner as much as I do. Yes, it looks like you did it right. Thank you. Every little bit helps when you're saving for school books and Christmas.

I never really thought of the Daybooks as a way to get to know me, but I guess they are. You get to read me fuss about all the driving. ~smile~ God's working with me on that one. I'm trying to be thankful that I have a vehicle that I can drive and a family to drive for.

Thankfully, Mondays are the only crazy busy day right now. I just added a couple college classes for my senior daughter and a co-op on Fridays. We'll see how all that goes.

    Thanks for being my friend!

  19. Love your daybook! I'm so tempted to begin one on my blog. I feel stuck. Love Liz's TADA! I'm going to look for that book--the title calls me. I hope your week is fun of SONshine!

  20. Hey Laura Lane,

I came over on Think Tank today, and I'm glad to find your site.

And, I love this idea of daybooks. Your sentence starters are great! I use to teach middle school English, and I wish I had had some of these "prompts" to get my students writing.

    Thanks for sharing.
    Blessings,
    Melanie

  22. Wow Laura, that is a lot in gas in one week. Hopefully things will slow down a little. I'm sure your dress is close to being finished by now. Can't wait to see. Have a wonderful rest of the week! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann

  23. Hello Jann,
Slightly less driving this week. Thanks be to God! I don't know if I'll finish the dress by this Sunday or not. I'm trying to prep for school for my 8th, 10th, and 12th graders. When did they get to those ages?
