Happy Homemaker Monday ~ April 3, 2017

As I write this Monday morning....

The weather.... overcast and 57°. Wondering how to make the degree sign?

Right now I am... enjoying a very quiet early morning. The family will be up and needy soon.

Thinking... wondering how to help my kids through teenage emotions.

A quote to share...

On my reading pile...
  • When No One Was Looking by Kim Frauli in my Kindle
  • Nehemiah and Psalms
Favorite blog post last week...
Down Home Goodness Comin’ Right Up!

Something fun to share... Old Time Lemonade

Blog hopping... A couple new blogs that look promising...

On the menu for this week....
I've not made my menus for the week yet. This catches me each week. I need to plan early for next week. ~grin~

On my to do list... Hmmm... this list looks about the same as last week.
  • Balance checkbook
  • Plan menu
  • School records and planning
  • Buy groceries
  • Begin Easter weekend planning
  • Laundry...always laundry
  • Try to fit in something from my bucket list
In the workbasket... I should finish my dish sponge scrubbies this week. Truthfully, I'm getting a little tired of making them. I want to do something else.
    Looking forward to this week...
I'd like to get together with a girlfriend for lemonade at Chick-fil-A.

Looking around the house... Just put in my first load of laundry and poured a cup of coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. I'm off to Bible next. Nehemiah, here I come!
    From the camera...

Penny took advantage of me leaving my Bible for a few minutes.
    Devotional... I'm reading Nehemiah.
    On my prayer list...
    • Peace of Jerusalem and Israel
    • Ellen Kuentzel, healing from Bacterial Meningitis, brain injury, fever (See update at end.)
    • Kirsten, Cheryl's niece who is 24 weeks along and has a blood clot in her lungs, trouble breathing, and heart trouble.
    • My husband and children
    • Protection for law enforcement officers
    • Peace in my home and in me

Father God, I pray that each reader will feel your presence today and hear Holy Spirit speaking to them. Bless them with your love and bring them to faith and trust in you, your son Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I ask in Jesus' Name. Amen.

    Thanks for dropping by!
    Please say hello.

Joining with Sandra at Happy Homemaker Monday.

My most recent update on Ellen Kuentzel 3/27: She is still struggling with use of her left side. She cannot stand on her own. She fatigues extremely easy, at end of the day she cannot even feed herself and sometimes at lunch she gets tired also. She has been running a 103 degree fever and it took the hospital 3 days to find out it was a bladder infection. She has pressure sores on her heels (bed sores). We were going to cut her hair but she did not want bangs so we are going to have to just comb it out, it is all tangled and matted. Brain injuries are extremely complex and they saved her life by doing the surgery as an emergency procedure.

      1. I pray for law enforcement often, Teri. My second son is planning to become a police officer. I often pray for them when I see them stopped with someone.

I really enjoyed your visit today, and it was an honor to share your blog.
        Be blessed,

    7. I really like the way you organize your post. I am reading the your post titles and the one, If you do stuff, stuff gets done. I have a family member who I would love to send this too, but she would probably be offended. But that title speaks volumes. Glad I stopped by.

      1. Oh you're so welcome, Roxy. I've been reading through slowly. When you get a comment, you'll know how far I've come. Amy said you got a bunch of snow. She said she tried my snow ice cream recipe. I told her to eat some for me. We never got winter this year. Bummer! We usually do, but the last two winters have been a bust.

I enjoy your friendship and consider you to be one of my Titus 2 ladies even though I'm 51.
        God bless you!

    9. I enjoy your posts Laura. They are very encouraging. We got hit with a snow storm and boy howdy, did we get the snow. So nice its been to get all this moisture.
I made your snow ice cream for my boys today and they loved it! I even added a squirt of chocolate syrup to mine...oh girl...it was delish!;)

Hope you are enjoying your week.

      Praying for you today!
      Hugs, Amy

      1. Oh Amy! Eat some for me, too! I never got snow...unless you count the slight sprinkling we had a couple times. If it doesn't cover the ground, it's not really snow.
May God bless you as you enjoy this last vestige of winter—I hope!

    10. Hi Laura...it has been a while since I visited you and when I clicked on your blog it took me a minute to realize the bird sounds were on your blog! I love hearing the beautiful songs of our fine feathered friends! Also, I see you have a doxie, Penny. Do I remember correctly that a while back you saw pics my Oscar and either mentioned you wanted to get one or already had one...I don't remember. Well, regardless, Miss Penny is adorable and looks a lot like Oscar's sister, Tasha :) Enjoy your day!

      1. Hi Debby!

It has been awhile! I think I did write you about your Oscar. Penny's mama is a Doxie, and her papa is a ramblin' man. So, we don't know. It's been a great debate in our home just what kind of dog he is.

Penny may have her nose in the Bible, but that little gal has a lot of repentin' to do over all her little puppy sins! She'll be 3 in a few weeks. I kept telling the kids she'd probably be a good dog in 2 or 3 years. Well, now I'm seeing the fruit, and we're getting along well. She even obeys—most of the time. ~smile~

I've not been to your place for a visit in awhile. I'm coming over. Let's keep in touch!

        Blessings,
        Laura
