State of the Battle ~ Breast Cancer Update ~ January 28, 2018

I have been battling breast cancer for most of a year now, and I have reduced my writing because of it. I received word from my surgeon's office that the chemotherapy and surgery have been effective. There was no cancer in my lymph nodes and the cancer in my breast was contained. There was no cancer in the margins. This, of course, is excellent news. Further treatments, while difficult, will be to prevent future cancer from growing in my body.

Remembering hair!
I have taken two weeks of radiation treatments so far and have five more to go. I am having some aching pain which I hope to talk to the radiation oncologist about on Tuesday. So far no burning on the skin. I am praying for protection for my heart, lungs, and skin.

Thank you for your patience with me as I've been fighting this battle. God bless you all.

  9. Hi Laura, I have been taking a bit of a hiatus from blogging but suddenly felt the need to pick it again. So sorry to hear you've been battling BC! I had BC in 2015 which totally turned my world upside down - thankfully mine was caught early so treatment didn't end up being too invasive. (No chemo) I did have wide excision and radiotherapy though - the tiredness and pain was my biggest challenge. I am due for a mammagram mid-Feb so praying all continues to be good! Thinking of you and praying for you as you and your family travel this cancer journey. God is your peace and strength! ((hugs)) from Julia, in New Zealand x

  16. God put the possibility of burning on my mind as soon as I read you were going to receive the radiation treatments. I pray every time I think of you that there will be no healthy cells burned or unhealthy cells missed. That God guides every medical personnel that has anything to do with your treatments.
I don't usually stay so focused on an individual, but God brings you to my mind many mornings during my prayer time.
    Love through Christ
