Recently, I said some friendly something to a clerk in Walmart. She chitchatted with me for a few minutes, then I asked her, "How are you?" She got a strange look on her face and said fine or something like that. I asked, "How can I pray for you?" She told me I could pray that her 18 year old son would stop hating her. I hugged her and prayed right then and there. We both had tears in our eyes by the time we were done. I made sure she was a believer before we were done.
Reach out ladies! We all need someone to care and to carry us to Jesus. Ask Jesus for boldness. When someone needs prayer, pray right there, aloud with the person. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Hearing someone pray for me, or reading their prayer, gives me strength and confidence in God's goodness and in his ability to bring it all to pass.
Let's do it!
Blessings,
Laura

Amen! Being the hands and feet of Jesus on earth...being in tune the Spirit and being available...that's what it's all about! People ministering to people...spreading the love of Jesus wherever they go! You do it so well! Love you, Lady! Keep spreading the love! <3
ReplyDeleteThat was really sweet of you Laura. You just never know who needs a prayer today.
ReplyDeletePraying people always make me pay attention! We used to have an OB/GYN who would pray before doing a c section and before performing little boy circumcisions. I loved that man!
ReplyDeleteOur pastor taught on this very thing last night..pray right then with the person in need. Use the opportunity God places before you. He gave several amazing testimonies of how God has worked through him doing this. Blessings and prayers for you. Sharon D.
ReplyDeleteYour testimony of 'boldness', to approach someone about the love of Jesus, is where I would like to be. It is easy to talk about God and Jesus around "Like minded" people..but to spread the word to the ones who ARE NOT like minded for say, or that you have no idea what they believe in...THAT takes a special kind of disciple of the Lord. I know the Bible says we are not to be jealous or envious..so I meekly and with humility would like to state..I sure wouldn't mind be more like you my dear lady. Thank you for the inspiration!! Have a blessed week! Karla
ReplyDeleteI love you! I wish I would run into shoppers like you. Perhaps I should be more of that kind of shopper with a heart to pray with people right on the spot. Pray for boldness for me! I hope you're getting stronger every day and feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this encouragement toward boldness and reaching out. I am inspired by your testimony. Your message and a recent verse both spoke to my heart about telling others about Jesus. 2 Cor 3:2 "You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all." For some people we are the only Bible they will ever read.
ReplyDeleteSO happy you shared your loving heart and God's will. Not only make the other people feel good, but you too. Hugs.. May God bless you.
ReplyDeleteDearest Laura, Jesus is smiling!
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing woman!
