Why You've Not Heard From Me

My Amy and Me

Hi everyone,
I wanted to tell you why I've not been writing. As you may know, I finished radiation on March 2nd. What I did not expect is that my skin would continue to burn and get worse for a week or more, and I would be hit with fatigue.
I'm now two weeks past radiation, and I am now feeling a bit better each day. The intensity of pain and burning has lessened a lot. I thank you all who have been praying for me.
I hope to get back to writing in another week or so. I just haven't had the energy to write. I've rested a lot between the must dos of life.
God bless you all! Don't give up on my blog. I'll be back!
Laura

  10. Rest up dear friend! My bff from work finished her radiation yesterday and she said she is pretty burned under her arm and boob area. I didn't realize it may get worse for a couple weeks, either. Hopefully, you are on the mend now!

  15. Please give yourself time to recover from the fatigue. It takes time and trying to hurry the recovery time will not help. It took me several weeks to get my energy back. Give yourself time and grace. Sending prayers and good thoughts your way Teddie

  21. Dear friend, maybe you do not remember who I am because I've been away for reasons very similar to yours because of my husband's illness.
Radiotherapy burns but in a not too distant time it recovers and the skin regenerates favorably.
I wish you a prompt recovery and I want you to know that you are in my time.
    Blessings

  27. Oh My Dear! I forgot to tell you to expect continued reddening and burning in the days/week following radiation. It is awful, I know. The fatigue takes a while to go away, too. Just so you don't panic- the fatigue will most likely get a bit worse before it hits its peak and then will slowly get better....probably 2 to 4 months before you get your energy back depending on how your body processed trauma. Just don't get depressed because it is happening-you will get through it and one day wake up and feel normal again. You are "young", too, so that helps.

I am praying you well, Laura!!!! Love to you- xo Diana
