LUMP DAY 2018!

God has been so close and so faithful through this cancer battle. He has truly shown Himself to be Jehovah Sabaoth—Lord of Hosts. He has fought this battle for me. I've clung to Him in a way I never did before. I've prayed for others and for myself in a way I never did before.

I am changed.
Thank you for praying.

I am doing well with my treatments. This coming week is my medical week. I have treatments every three weeks. Doctor Monday. Knit night Tuesday. Chemo Wednesday. Recovery Thursday and Friday.

Just five more Herceptin chemo treatments! Surgery in the fall. Then I get to recover from that and be more "normal" whatever that means anymore. I can hardly believe that April 22nd is a year since I found the lump. Last spring I didn't know if I'd see this spring.

Thank you Jesus I am still here!

You're all a part of that. Your faithful prayers, cards, letters, notes, gifts and encouragement have helped carry me through this year.

My gratitude
is from my heart.

I wish I could hug
every one of you!

God bless you all!

Laura
Thankful to be alive

P.S. I just found out my last Herceptin treatment should be July 18th.

  7. After I spent 10 days at my husband's bedside with him in a coma I was completely changed, too. I know exactly what you mean and it has been such a blessing. You have done so well and He will see you through to the very end. I praise Him with you for the healing He has given.

So thankful that you are not just alive, but doing well! I don't always comment but I do check your blog regularly to make sure you are still posting and doing ok. Hard to believe that it has been a year although it probably seems like 5 to you! Praying that each day you get further from that fateful day is better than the one before! Thanks for being such an encouragement!

  12. Laura, you are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Both inside and out. I love the way the Lord has "reconstructed" you and how you shared your faith journey with us that love you. God has BIG plans for you Lady!..Just think, what you had first interpreted as a "bad thing" ( of which there is nothing good about cancer).. the Lord used as a "teaching tool" for you to share your faith with SO MANY OTHERS whom you may otherwise have NEVER met or had opportunity to reach out to and share His Love. And look what it has done with your own faith and prayer time. He truly does work in mysterious ways. I would have loved for you to have been spared the fear, the pain, the sickness and everything else that is included in the cancer treatment journey. The Lord had it all planned out, and He has great things in store for you...His good and faithful servant. God Bless you Laura, A gentle hug across the miles.. Karla

  26. I'm so happy for you, Laura, and know you will continue to be blessed as you face each day, each treatment, and each recovery period. It's so sweet to know we do not travel this earthly life alone and that we have a loving Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ watching over us and standing beside us, carrying us when we are too weak to walk by ourselves. You are a beautiful example of strength and light to many.
