Thrifty Kitchen... Frugal Self-Rising Flour


Self-Rising Flour

4 c flour
2 t salt
2 T baking powder

Mix well and store in an airtight container.
Use in recipes calling for self-rising flour.

Whether you want a frugal option, or you run out of self-rising flour, this is a good make-do option.

  7. Out of interest, is your self-raising flour more expensive than plain flour? For us up in Australia they cost the same and we use them both equally.

    But it's handy to know if you run out of SR flour:))

  9. The self-rising flour is a bit higher here, Jo. It's also handy to just make it when you need it rather than keeping it on hand.
