I do enjoy many of the old hymns. Truth and strength combine with a dignity missing in many of the new songs. Please enjoy this, one of my favorites, sung by Sisters.
It is Well With My Soul
The song was written in 1873 by Horatio G. Spafford.* It is now in the public domain. The beautiful, inspiring, peace inspiring lyrics were written after all of his four daughters had drowned in a sea collision. You can read more at Share Faith.

ReplyDeleteGod is truly great, Cheryl. Happy Easter to you as well! Tonight we're continuing a family tradition that we started when the kids were very young. We have bread and grape juice for dinner. It was born out of my ignorance but my desire to honor Jesus. We first celebrate communion, then we eat the bread with various toppings. It's a favorite tradition with the kids, so we continue it even though I now know that there was more to the meal than the bread and wine.

Truly, one of the great hymns of the faith. A timeless treasure both musically and theologically. May the body of Christ sing it until we are face to face with the One because of Whom it can be well with our souls.
