    I am laughing over the thought of white stuff. I think you are further south than I am. We had white stuff last week - not enough that you could do anything with it but we did have some. I guess we are far enough to the North in Alabama that we did get some. Then we had a week of freezing weather with no precipitation. Busted pipes all over and froze up my washer. If you are wishing make sure everything is in order so it wont freeze up. I will be wishing it for you as well. I am sure your family would enjoy playing in it!

    It is snowing once again here....I so desperatly need spring, blossom scented trees, excited and twitter-paitted critters dancing through the trees, the sound of the melting snow running through the streets, oh and to open a window and let in the fresh spring air...

Hello my dear readers and friends, You've no doubt noticed a change in my blog over the last few weeks and seen hints of health troubles and tests. This is the post I've been avoiding. My Spicy Can Opener Soup was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas!

Just had to share this with you again.   My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook.  I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup.  They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same.   I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book .  Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks.  I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half.
