Hello! What a beautiful day it's been. The sunshine and warm weather made me want to just open the windows, put show tunes on Spotify, and dance through my housework! Well, I didn't get to do much of that before I had to go to the restaurant to help my husband, but I did enjoy bopping around to some fun songs from Singing in the Rain. My kids, 13, 15, and 17 love show tunes, too. The girls joined right in. What's your day been like?
May God grant you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him.
God bless you!

Outside my window...
Night is slowly falling after a warm sunny day.
I am thinking...
about making some homemade cocoa!
I am thankful...
I am thankful...
that I was able to drop everything and help my husband today. It's something I couldn't have done if I worked outside the home.
I am wearing...
My black dress with red cherries. It reminds me of Mary Engelbreit. I made it myself a year or so ago from a pattern my friend Laura gave me for my birthday a number of years ago. It's the Women's Panel Dress from Common Sense Patterns. I've made it up 3 or 4 times now.
I am creating...
If I get myself moving, I'll be crocheting some dishcloths and maybe sewing an apron.
I am going...
to my daughters' teen talent competition in Jefferson City.
I am wondering...
I am hoping...
to finish the book and post my review in a day or two.
I am looking forward to...
Sunday. I enjoy worshiping the Lord Jesus with my church family.
I am learning...
more about forgiveness and healing.
Around the house...
I see so much to do.
I am pondering...
how to do it.
"True Christianity finds all of its doctrines in the Bible;
true Christianity does not deny any part of the Bible;
true Christianity does not add anything ot the Bible.
For many centuries the Bible has been the most available
book on the earth. It has no hidden purpose.
It cannot be destroyed."

One of my favorite things...
I enjoy candles burning. Be sure to let them burn long enough for the entire top to liquefy prior to blowing them out. This way they will burn more completely. It's usually about an hour per inch across.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Have a wonderful week!
Laura
Happy at Home
Laura, very sweet of you to go and help Hubby .. And wonderful that you were able to.
ReplyDeleteI too, have a mile long to do list.. and this beautiful sunny weather, is really making me want to get outside..ha
I love the cherry fabric.. I also made myself one.. Do you like that pattern/ are they easy to follow and what about the fit..i have never bought a pattern from them. but found them on internet awhile back.. They have some cute patterns, I would like to try.. thanks for sharing.
Dropping by from Peggy's blog. I love how you did your daybook. I especially liked your Planning and Making Do list. I am a list maker myself. Hope your week is awesome
ReplyDeleteWOW!! That Philly Cheese Steak looks yummy!!! Thanks for sharing your day; hope you have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteThis has absolutely nothing to do with your post, but I saw your Pinterest has a "free in KC" board. I wanted to add, if you don't know already, that the National Archives in Kansas City (it's downtown in a safe-but-ugly section next to Union Station and the giant IRS building) has historical exhibits that rotate every few months. Not a lot, but I went when they had a big exhibit on the Harvey girls with tons of artifacts, and they had another on WWII propaganda and another on the government and food regulations, like rationing and food safety and stuff. Sometimes there's nothing, though, so check online. Anyway, it's free and has free parking.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, there's all the genealogy computers and databases they have and subscribe to, if that's your thing.
I sound like a salesman but I'm not. I just really liked the Harvey exhibit when it was in town, although I loathed the drive there and think the whole city's kind of grim. Prefer cornfields and cows myself, but do like history.
I am reading: The Secret School
ReplyDeleteI am wondering: If I should braid my hair tomorrow. Literally!
Around the house: Kind of messy, but we do live in our house you know.
What I see: Emily's teen talent art entry.
What I need to do:
Practice my dance for teen talent and finish my art project.
What I am wearing:
Jeans, tennis shoes, and a pink shirt.
Love you mom!
Amy
Cocoa, show tunes, and candle light! Sounds like the start to a fabulous night!
ReplyDeleteI need to make some more dishcloths as well. Homemade hot cocoa sounds yummy!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy hope to get done list is ridiculously long. I actually doubt a lifetime is long enough to get everything done that I would like to.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea about the candles, I will have to remember that. Great Daybook, thanks for sharing. Blessings
ReplyDeleteGreat daybook Laura! Wishing your daughter luck on her talent contest in JC. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura! It sounds like things are busy in your neck of the woods, and I am so glad you have some nice spring weather! My kids don't mind show tunes either, my daughter and I especially love them, and drive the boys crazy when we sing them. I'm looking forward to your book review! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Laura!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good day here in Colorado. Yesterday it was in the 80's today, today it's cold and in the 50's. This crazy Spring weather. :)
I have been busy in the yard. Trying to get some of my bulbs planted. Cleaning up around the homestead seems like it's a chore all its own. But, I would rather have that than living in the busy city. I have been baking a bit and organizing the house. School is going good and we are taking a few days off to enjoy the warmth of the days. I have errands to run in town today, so will be gone most of the day. Your sandwich looks mighty tasty. Wish we lived closer, that my friend is what I now want for dinner.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
Hugs,
Amy
Oops! Sorry to make you drool Amy. ~grin~
ReplyDeleteI just paid bills, now I need to run to town for a few errands, too.
Blessings,
Laura
Hi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteThe best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. My week hasn't been nearly as productive as I 'd hoped. I just paid bills, now I'm off to town for a few errands.
Blessings,
Laura
Thanks Joyful!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I could help Linda. They last so much longer and burn more evenly that way.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
I think the same about my Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, Just checking on you today. It's being a long while. How are you? Do take care and I hope you finish reading *Smile*.

Thanks so much for the KC info. I'll look into it. We like history. I have family there or I'd not go.
Both my sons work cattle.
Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.... 😉
Thank everyone for your wonderful comments!
