Hello! It's a beautiful morning. A bit chilly, but spring is coming! It wasn't a very productive week last week, but I'm hoping to play catch-up this week. I have much to do. Is it spring at your house yet?
May God grant you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him.
God bless you!

Outside my window...
a cloudy morning has dawned. I can hear the traffic from the highway and birds singing and calling to each other.
I am thinking...
what a blessed life I live.
I am thankful...
I am thankful...
that God has blessed us with this home.
In the kitchen...
boiling eggs for breakfast.
boiling eggs for breakfast.
I am wearing...
My black dress with my black Crocs that I got after the tornado.
I am creating...
If I get myself moving, I'll be crocheting some dishcloths and maybe sewing an apron.
I am going...
I went...
I went...
to my daughters' teen talent competition in Jefferson City over the weekend. They did great in interpretive dance and art. I wish their grandmas could have seen them.
I am wondering...
when I'll find time to do all I have to do.
when I'll find time to do all I have to do.
I am reading...
I am hoping...
that spring has truly sprung.
I am looking forward to...
choosing a few plants for the garden in a few weeks. My children are going to study gardening in 4H. I have hopes that will help them be more interested in helping with the garden this year.
I am learning...
about healing using Kenneth Hagin's Bible Faith Study Course.
Around the house...
Around the house...
everything in a bit of disarray, because things have been moved away from the walls. It's time for Buddy the bug man to come and spray the house. We have troubles with ants in the spring and fall. We're trying to prevent them from getting to the kitchen. They've already appeared in the bathroom. Yes. I know. Chemicals are bad for you. We have tried all kinds of things. I just cannot stand having the critters in the kitchen.
I am pondering...
how to effectively teach my 11 month old puppy to come every time we call.
One of my favorite things...
I enjoy my old worn out, cover and spine glued together, notes all through it, New King James Bible. In fact, I got a new study Bible, but still use my old one most of all. In fact, even the zippered cover is wearing out.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Since my plans were set aside to work at the cafe last week, I've got to hit reset and try to do the things on last week's list. We'll also watch The Grace of God.

Happy at Home
My experience in 4H has been that the kids only get out of it what the project leader puts into it. They have to be challenged or they don't really succeed in the area. We had some great ones and we had some duds! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope spring is here to stay.
I don't know how you find time to "create" with all that you do! :) Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Sounds like you have a wonderful week ahead of you Laura! I loved the picture of your sweet puppy, and cheery flowers too! Have a blessed and wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Spicing up Idaho!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment.
ReplyDeleteWe also have ants come in occasionally. I have not had a fellow come out because we have little bitty baby and toddlers and more. I can usually get them under control by Terro ant baits though. Or the old fashioned borax and sugar baits sitting around.
You blog is lovely.
I've seen the lone ant or two in the living room and kitchen already but haven't discovered any trails coming in anywhere. We've had swarms of the ants with wings every summer for several years and they come in the one window of our guest room. Last year, I went out and sprayed around the window and in all the vents in the bricks, did the trick....I have a recipe for ants and it works:
ReplyDeleteThis is a LOW COST method to get rid of ANTS once and for all.
Instructions:
~One Cup Sugar
~THREE Tablespoons Boric Acid or Borax Laundry Soap
~THREE Cups of Warm Water
Mix the Sugar and Boric Acid together and slowly add the warm water, stirring all the time so the mixture will not get lumpy. Store is in a sealed jar and whenever you see ants simply take a used soda bottle or milk jug lid. Put a cotton ball in the lid and saturate the cotton ball with your sugar and boric acid mixture. It will not take much, just enough to fill the lid, if you spill any over the edge leave it, this will only attract the ants even more.
When you see the ants drinking the mixture, DO NOT kill them, let them drink and take the mixture back to the colony. This should kill the entire colony. In a day or two the entire colony should be gone. If you have small children or pets make certain they cannot get to this mixture since Boric Acid is hazardous.
I put this in a jar lid on a cotton ball and placed it under the shelving in my pantry and in back of the washer/dryer. Places where Smokey couldn't get to it.
What a delightful post, dear friend. We are so blessed by the Lord and it's always refreshing to think about His many blessings.
