Miss Dickinson's Autumn

Emily Dickenson

The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry's cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field held a scarlet gown.

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I'll put a trinket on.

  1. Lovely Poem! Your Play list of the birds is most enjoyable ;o)

    1. Thank you, Roxy. I've wondered if I should change it, then someone will comment favorably on it.
      Good night or good morning!

  2. Great post! Love the poem. Come over and link at The Fabulous Fall Party!

  3. What a great poem and perfect for the season! Its still a bit warm here and the evenings are cooling off. Such a nice relief.
I've been dehydrating, slicing, baking a making strawberry jams. We got an amazing deal on 36 pounds of strawberries for $20, so I've been busy for the past two days.Labor of love I guess you could say. My back is sore and I'm all tuckered out, but it was so worth it! ;)
    Enjoy your week! Amy

    1. Strawberries yes!
There's no putting it off tomorrow with them. They just won't last. I hope you're finished and recovering soon. You got an amazing deal. You'll be so glad to open summer freshness this winter with all the snow you get!
      Be blessed friend!
And if you're ever in Missouri, drop by!
