Happy Homemaker Monday ~ January 29, 2018

As I write ...  Late Monday night.

The weather.... Dark and chilly.

Right now I am... eating ice cream.

Thinking... I'm thinking about my new knitting project. I've had a difficult time learning the pattern. I've had to pull out stitches numerous times, and I started all over once.

A quote to share...
On my reading pile...

  • Shepherds Abiding... A Mitford book by Jan Karon
  • The Mayflower Bride by Kimberley Woodhouse

Favorite blog post last week...
Something fun to share...

On the menu for this week...
  • Monday... Ham steak, au gratin potatoes, broccoli
  • Tuesday...  Not sure yet. I won't be home for supper.
  • Wednesday...  Eating at church
  • Thursday...   Chicken soup
  • Friday...   Date night I hope

On my to do list...
  • Do some things on my bucket list.
  • Radiation daily
  • Medical oncologist appointment - I had an excellent report.
  • Radiation oncologist appointment
  • Chemo
  • Mop kitchen floor - I didn't get it done last week.
  • Laundry - I didn't get it done last week.
In the workbasket...
  • I've been working on a hat with a modified basket weave stitch in a garnet yarn.
Looking forward to this week...
  • Tuesday - Knitting group
  • Wednesday - Church and an afterglow birthday for a man in our church
  • Thursday -
  • Friday - Homeschool co-op
  • Saturday -

Looking around the house...  My motto has become, "I can only do what I can do." Unfortunately, it shows!

From the camera...
Route 66 runs through our town.

On my prayer list...
  • Julie (a reader) asked for prayer for her mom who has a malignant breast tumor.
  • Peace of Jerusalem and Israel
  • Wisdom, health, and protection for President Trump, Vice-President Pence, and their families.
  • Healing for our country so that we may be ONE nation under God.
  • Radiation will not harm my heart or lungs, and that I will be brave.
  • Cancer will die the death in my body. My heart, brain, organs, spleen, and healthy cells will be protected. I will live and not die and declare the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 118:17

My prayer for you, my reader...

Jesus, I thank you that you hear our prayers. Father, I thank you for sending Jesus. Holy Spirit, I thank you for being our comforter and our teacher. Lord God, three in one, I thank you that you personally know each one of my readers. You know each one's needs, fears, hopes, problems, pains, and illnesses. I ask you God to speak directly to each one, to meet each person's needs, and heal each physical problem. Bless each spiritually, physically, socially, and financially. I ask it all by the power of the Blood of Jesus, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thanks for dropping by!
Please say hello.

  1. Route 66 would be a dream trip for me! How cool that you are right on the way. I am happy you have found the knitting group; you need something 'fun' and 'just because.' Girl, I am not even going through what you are, and I put off mopping my kitchen floor for way too long recently. I would hit it with a rag if I saw a bad spot, but had to finally mop it Saturday night after we finished opening oysters in there. lol Don't feel bad for what you can't do... enjoy what you can! <3 <3 <3

  2. Join you in prayer for all your intentions, my friend.
And just do what you can and let the rest go. : )
The dust will be there tomorrow.
    Trust me! I know! lol

  3. Praying for you Laura, and thankful for your good report..
Praying for Julie's mom. May God bless you both.
[I got a good report too.. Thankful to God]

  4. Praying for you daily my friend!
Only do what you can and just let go of the things you can't do. It will always be there when you can. ;)

Route 66!! How cool is that! I'd love to do that drive! ;)

All is good here, even though my boys have Strep. I'm going behind them with lysol and bleach spray...must de-germ!! Must de-germ!!

    Enjoy your week!

  5. Monday around here was also dark and chilly...sometimes I love days like that. So glad to hear about the good reports! Hope you are feeling stronger as each day passes! Blessings!

  6. I am late reading and catching up with you. Has been a rough week for me in many ways. I pray for you often and will keep doing so. Ugh, my house is not looking so spiffy either! Huggles.

  7. It is back to being so cold! I had hoped it would warm up. I am longing for sunshine and summer!

At His prompting I am praying daily for no radiation burns.

  8. Hello Laura! Sorry I haven't visited lately. I can't seem to keep up. I always enjoy your posts, and love and appreciate your prayer list on this one, and your prayer. It is wonderful that you are getting good reports from the doctors. I do think about you often. Those little singing birds always make me happy! :)

  9. I just stopped by to catch up and say Hello, and I stopped to pray for you also. May the Lord give you healing and wisdom in your battle with cancer.

  10. Muchos besitos, preciosa hermanita , sigues en mis oraciones . Dios te continúe bendiciendo junto a tu linda family 😘😘🙏🙏
