This really struck me:
"Every great movement of God started with one man or woman who cared deeply enough to hear God’s voice and stepped out to do something. We can't change everything with a Dislocated Heart, but we can change something."
I don't begin to think that I can or will start a movement of God, but I do want to care enough to hear God's voice and do something. That's one reason that I will stop and listen to other's stories. I care about their pain. That's also why I pray right then with them. Maybe in a small way, that will encourage the ones I pray with to pray right then with others when the opportunity arises. No more God in the closet! No more hiding. If others don't know I'm a believer, or at least that something is different about me, then I'm not doing Christian right.
More than 30 years ago a doctor friend heard God's voice to start a crisis pregnancy center here and made it a reality.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible mission!
Delete"I'm a breast cancer surviving, Jesus loving, retired homeschooling mom of four and wife to my high school sweetheart for 35 years...doing what I can with what I've got where I am on a short shoestring budget! ஐღLauraღஐ"
ReplyDeleteI just want to say, even with the difficulties, this is a very Good life!
You are right about that!
DeleteI also like how you put Mrs. in your name. I hope young women begin to see that it is an honor. Many do, but it still stands out to me when I see it.
DeleteIt is an honor Sandi. I couldn't wait to be Mrs. when I was a little girl. When I did become Mrs., it seemed no one used it anymore. I heard it from homeschoolers, and I now hear it from the children I substitute teach. I bless you for noticing. ~smile~
DeleteMay God be near in your thoughts and heart this week.
Laura
Amen
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet and kind. Just smiling and being kind can help someone over come a bit of sadness. I encourage my grandkids to pray. It's okay to ask God for what you need. I always ask for strength. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHello Susie dear,
DeleteMay God give you the strength, stamina, hope, health and healing you need and desire in Jesus' name!
Hi Laura~ I love this! I am a woman of faith, a Christian, a mother, wife, grandmother and have felt the goodness and miracles of God's love for His children. We are living in a time when we need, God in our lives more than ever. What a great reminder to stop, no matter where we are and say a little prayer. Thank you, Laura. Hugs, Barb
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Barb. I hope you have a beautiful week.
DeleteThis is perfect - just what I needed this afternoon! No more hiding - amen and amen!! I pray that others see Jesus through me! Have a blessed week!!
