Morning! I love that quote from Mr. Fulghum. We never know what little eyes see or observe from us. Always best to be on our best behavior...very hard, I know! I am having a trying day at work but one thing at a time, right? Barbara Bush's words are very important to remember as well...thanks for the reminders!
ReplyDeleteI always tried to listen to what my children were trying to say and to understand where they were coming from. I didn't always succeed, but I like to think that I did succeed more than I didn't!
ReplyDeleteSometimes as a teacher when I get home it is hard to stop and listen to what my7 year old have to say. now bearing in mind he has not stopped talking since we left school, I do have to sometimes remind myself to listen and understand what he is trying to say. After all it is us, his parent, whose words and thoughts really matter to him.
ReplyDeleteI am following you from the Teaching What is good Hop and hope you follow back.

Listen to our children, they hear things we never think they hear, live out what we say. Great words of exhortation!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing them on Teaching What Is Good's link-up today!
Great quotes Laura, I especially like the one that says they are always watching us. I have a 7 year old boy and he sees and hears and takes in more than you would think, we have to be so careful in what we say and do in front of him, and he has a great memory. Thank you for sharing these quotes at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI agree. Often children have a lot to say, if we would only just listen to them. This also goes for listening to adults as well. Listening is a key component to conversation.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much kids absorb, Terri. Have a good weekending.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty,
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Thanks so much for taking time to talk back to me. It's always nice to know someone is "listening".
