Hello!
Welcome to November the month of thanks, friendship, and anticipation. I hope you are finding things to be thankful for even if you find yourself in a hard time or under pressure.
I know there is a lot of anxiety about the election. The waiting will be over before we know it. The course for America's future will be set. Will we choose leaders to honor our Constitution and freedom, or will we stray farther from the Founding Fathers' and God's design for our country? Time will tell. Please pray for our country, for peace regardless of the outcome. We want to continue to be one nation under God. We must love one another and be kind even if we don't agree. PLEASE VOTE!
Thanks for dropping by! May God grant you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him.
God bless you!
Laura

Outside my window... I see a Novembery gray sky. We are just seeing a bit of color in Southwest Missouri, but leaves are already falling from the trees. I think that the strange temperatures may rob us of a beautiful display of rich colors.
I am thinking... about the election... like most everyone else. Please listen to this most patriotic of songs as you continue to read.

I am wearing... a blueberry blue striped t-shirt and my denim skirt. Bare feet. Pale pink toenail polish.
I am creating... nothing at the moment, though I plan to make my list and check it twice very soon. The cooler weather has me in the mood to feather my nest and begin Christmas Kringling. By the way, kringling has my own definition. I once looked it up and it meant something different. To me, it's all that goes into making Christmas and gifts behind the scenes.
I am wondering... who will win. What America will look like after November 8th.
I am reading... I'm reading The Cottage by Michael Phillips along with snatch reading from other books on my Fall Reading List.
I am hoping... to do some cleaning, some more fall decorating, some record keeping and planning, and some sewing this week.

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeletePopping over to say hello! Thank you for stopping by my blog and introducing yourself! I enjoyed reading through your day book post. I also have election anxiety and wish I could sleep through the rest of it and wake up when it's over! ;)
So nice to meet you, I'll be back!
Linda

Dear Linda, a sleep until Wednesday would be a long sleep that would no doubt put your family over the edge with anxiety. ~smile~ It's going to be alright. God's got us.
DeleteIt will be okay. God is not done with America yet! :-)
ReplyDeleteAmen!
DeleteHello Sweet Laura, we are praying for the election as well. He is in control and I am so thankful that He is. Take Care ~ Blessings Teresa
ReplyDeleteYou're right Teresa. That's the only thing that gives me peace. Be blessed! Laura
DeleteAgree, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying!
Have a cozy evening!
It's been a lovely evening of reading with misty cool air outside. Finally feels like fall.
DeleteThe election....it seems to consume all of our thoughts, doesn't it? I will get it off my mind for a few moments, then, lo and behold, this feeling of dread starts falling all around me again, and I start to pray AGAIN. I included your blog link in my post last night. I trust people will come here and read it, as it so perfectly articulates what is at stake this election. I heard in a sermon last night that 25 million Christians did not vote the last election, and that we lost the election by 4 million. We could turn the tide, if only we would vote. God help us. Sending you love and hugs, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. I wrote about it, because I believe this is our last chance to have the America we had before... "one nation under GOD indivisible with liberty and justice for all." I watched God's Not Dead 2 last night and was reminded why I cannot go back to teaching as a profession. There's too much Jesus in me to keep it in.
DeleteGod bless you my friend, God bless America, and may Christians across this country awaken from their slumber in Jesus' Name and vote for our Constitution and our Freedom of Religion.
Hugs,
Laura
Sounds like a lovely Autumn November day. You've spurred me on to join in the Simple Woman's Day Book again - I hope to link up soon!
ReplyDeleteI forgot you lived in SW MO - we've recently moved to New England, but our roots remain in the midwest. We'll get back to MO for yearly visits, Lord willing.
Michael Phillips is one of my favorite authors, but I have not read this one - thank you for the recommendation!
Thanksgiving Blessings to you and yours :)
Hi Linda,
DeleteThe Cottage is the second in the series. I believe the first is called The Inheritance. Yes. I'm too lazy to go verify the title on the shelf. ~blush~
Enjoy your Thanksgiving. Now that the election's over, I can focus on the holidays.
Warmly,
Laura
Thanks so much for sharing, as most shared I was anxious about the election, and God reminded me to "Be anxious for nothing", so I put it at His feet and went to bed Tuesday night with that sweet wonderful peace that passes all understanding, slept well, and woke up with that peace! Loved listening to the birds, my cats are currently fattening up for the winter, so not much activity in my yard! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie,
DeleteOne of my pets—not sure if it was my cat or dog—presented a gift of a mouse on my bedroom floor today. I think I'll skip the thank you note!
Blessings,
Laura

Hi Brenda!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're so sweet Brenda. I hope you'll come by for a visit again. I'm going to come and visit you.
Be blessed!
Laura
Nobody's ever done GOD BLESS AMERICA quite like Kate Smith did. Thanks for the replay.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the election is over! What an ordeal the process was ... this time around. Praying the country can settle down!
