Happy Homemaker Monday ~ May 15, 2017

As I write...  Sunday evening

The weather.... Beautiful! Sunny and warm

Right now I am... doing a little research, email, and writing.

Thinking... I'm looking forward to fall already! I love the coziness of it, the beauty of the colors and the crispness in the air. I don't do well in the heat, so summer is an endurance sport for me. ~smile~

I made this little pumpkin dress for my daughter's doll a few years ago.
I miss making doll dresses.

A quote to share...

“ You don’t have to be afraid —because you have a Father. You don’t have to know how to do it all.You just have to choose to be all here, right where you are.His grace meets you in the moment  and you will miss it if you are worrying about future moments.

I've not made plans yet. I am excited about cooking for my husband again after his long business trip.
On my to do list... Fun Stuff—not ~smile~

  • appointments
  • laundry
  • cleaning
  • planning
  • school records
  • I also want to do something from my spring bucket list. I'm afraid I'm running out of spring! I'll have to move some items over to a summer list.
In the workbasket... thinking about a little knitting

Looking forward to this week... making summer plans

Looking around the house... The bathroom is almost finished. I want to go to Hobby Lobby and look for accessories.
From the camera... Stockton Sneakaway
Lowell and I had the afternoon free with no kids. We took a drive and ended up at the lake.

Devotional...
Anxious? Depressed? Stressed? Fear the Future? Fall Deeply in Love!

On my prayer list...
  • Calmness in my spirit
  • Healing in my body
  • Trust in my soul
  • Peace for my children and husband
  • Wisdom for President Trump and our government officials
  • Kristen, Cheryl of Homespun Devotions' niece, is still fighting for her life and for her baby's. She has blood clots in her lungs and heart troubles.
  • Healing for Ellen—She's now in a rehab center!
  • Peace of Jerusalem and Israel
Father God, I pray that each reader will know the love of God in a very real and personal way. I ask that Holy Spirit speak, teach, and comfort each reader. Bring salvation and healing through your son Jesus the Christ. I pray that you will be glorified in their lives. I ask all in Jesus' Name.  I plead the blood of Jesus over every reader and their loved ones! Amen.

  2. Beautiful lake pictures!

I smiled about the blog entry on picking a good watermelon! My husband is the king of the melon pickers! I don't know how he does it, but they're always so good. He presses the ends, smells them, etc. Not to leave out my special talent lol, but I can pick a good avocado...even when I don't need it for a couple of days. When I lived in California, my friend had a tree. I learned then. It serves me well as I love love avocados and they're not cheap so you wanna get a good one every time!!

I'll join you in looking forward to fall. It was over 90 today and I was counting the mos. to October!! November and March are my favorites.

I will keep you in my prayers with your health issues. I feel like a lot of people around me are facing health trials. :::sigh:::

Bless you this week & take it easy!

    1. Thank you Linda. I'm trying to be strong, but any true strength will have to come from God himself. Mine doesn't last long before I get tired. ~smile~
      Be blessed!

  5. Alrighty, avocado picking. I pass up anything squishy or rock hard. A hard one will ripen, but I don't think they ever come out great. No idea why. I look for dark green first, then put them in my left hand (no idea why!!), palm up. I close my eyes and bring my fingers up to feel the give. Slightly soft is usually 2 days out (but check!) and a marshmallow feel (a little give) is usually pretty good for the next day. Softer, but not squishy is probably the same day. It's definitely a practice makes perfect thing. When I bring them home to ripen, I set them in a warm place with no direct sun. Mine always do well on top of the microwave! My friend swears by a brown paper bag.

    Hope it helps!

  8. Thanks for visiting my blog, Laura. I too enjoy fall, and here right now it feels like we're back to winter! We had a snowfall just yesterday! You should make doll dresses again. And, I love Hobby Lobby! I'm going there tomorrow, in fact, for some craft supplies. Hugs to you!

Thanks for writing me back!

This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
