As I write... Sunday evening
The weather.... Beautiful! Sunny and warm
Right now I am... doing a little research, email, and writing.
Thinking... I'm looking forward to fall already! I love the coziness of it, the beauty of the colors and the crispness in the air. I don't do well in the heat, so summer is an endurance sport for me. ~smile~
I made this little pumpkin dress for my daughter's doll a few years ago. I miss making doll dresses. |

Hi Laura!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all of your pics. ;) And you're definitely a Gal after my own heart being a big lover of Fall! It's my absolute favorite. And that doll dress is adorable!
Blessings on your week ahead. xoxo
Sounds like we should be friends, Carrie!
DeleteBeautiful lake pictures!
ReplyDeleteI smiled about the blog entry on picking a good watermelon! My husband is the king of the melon pickers! I don't know how he does it, but they're always so good. He presses the ends, smells them, etc. Not to leave out my special talent lol, but I can pick a good avocado...even when I don't need it for a couple of days. When I lived in California, my friend had a tree. I learned then. It serves me well as I love love avocados and they're not cheap so you wanna get a good one every time!!
I'll join you in looking forward to fall. It was over 90 today and I was counting the mos. to October!! November and March are my favorites.
I will keep you in my prayers with your health issues. I feel like a lot of people around me are facing health trials. :::sigh:::
Bless you this week & take it easy!

Praying for you, sweet friend, and sending love and hugs your way!!
ReplyDeleteBlessed be, my friend. Keeping you in prayer---you are strong my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I'm trying to be strong, but any true strength will have to come from God himself. Mine doesn't last long before I get tired. ~smile~
DeleteBe blessed!

Alrighty, avocado picking. I pass up anything squishy or rock hard. A hard one will ripen, but I don't think they ever come out great. No idea why. I look for dark green first, then put them in my left hand (no idea why!!), palm up. I close my eyes and bring my fingers up to feel the give. Slightly soft is usually 2 days out (but check!) and a marshmallow feel (a little give) is usually pretty good for the next day. Softer, but not squishy is probably the same day. It's definitely a practice makes perfect thing. When I bring them home to ripen, I set them in a warm place with no direct sun. Mine always do well on top of the microwave! My friend swears by a brown paper bag.
ReplyDeleteHope it helps!
Thank you Debby!
DeleteGood morning, lovely friend! It's been WAY TOO LONG since I have popped in for a visit. How are you, dear Laura? I trust you are well :)

Still praying for you dear! Oh how many days I spent at Stockton Lake as a child and an adult. Glad you got away! Thinking of you this week and always.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle.
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog, Laura. I too enjoy fall, and here right now it feels like we're back to winter! We had a snowfall just yesterday! You should make doll dresses again. And, I love Hobby Lobby! I'm going there tomorrow, in fact, for some craft supplies. Hugs to you!
