Spring Reading List 2023

Harvest Lane Cottage
Spring Reading List
2023

Hello everyone!

Time to share my Spring Reading List. Now that I've finished it, I'll be able to cross it off my Spring Bucket List! This may seem like a lot to read, but I like to snatch moments to read (and knit), whenever I can. Use your minutes!

One thing that helps is listening to books on Scribd. It's a great app, and you can get a free 2 month trial by using my link. I'll get a month free, too, so it's win-win to try it out. After the two months, it's only $11.99 a month for as many audiobooks, ebooks, magazines, sheet music, podcasts, and documents as you want. I get well over $11.99 a month in value. I love it. Here's my Scribd link.

My List

Lots of Old Testament
I won't be ready for New Testament until summer.
I listen on Bible.com.

Laura Lately A Thrifty Week or Two or Three

Hello!

Just a very bare bones post today so that I can begin my list again. I did these things and many others over the last few weeks. With the advent of spring flowers, I'm feeling more motivated to do homemakery things!

Altered some jeans and a blouse

Mended the crochet edge on a vintage tablecloth.

Used a gift card to go to a fancy restaurant and only paid $14 out of pocket including the tip. A Valetines treat a day early.

I made homemade granola for breakfast.

I've been using up what I have on hand.

I'm Knitting for Joy with yarn that I received as gifts from friends.

I'm joined a scrappy socks knit along beginning the 18th.

Sent a card to a friend. I bought the cards for fifty cents a box at a thrift store last summer.

I've been taking leftovers for lunch.

Choosing to eat at home rather than out and about.

Bought eggs directly from a friend with chickens

Another friend gave me some leftover yarn

Made my cappucino drinks from a mix at home

Knit a pair of shorty socks using yarn a friend gave me

Knit a pair of shorty socks using scrap yarn that I've saved up and that my friend Jean gave me

I'm currently knitting a pair of scrappy socks for a friend

All for now. I'll start a new list. I want to start posting on Fridays or Saturdays again.

Be blessed all!

God's Extravagance

“Oh, the wonder of it! The outrageous beauty! God didn't have to give us cherry blossoms you know. He didn't have to make apple trees and peach trees burst into flower and fragrance. But God just loves to splurge. He gives us all this magnificence and then, if that isn't enough, He provides fruit from such extravagance."

~ Lynn Austin

God's love knows no bounds. Aren't you glad? It doesn't matter if we ignore Him all day, He's waiting at the end. But, would the day not be better, would we not be better, if we meet him at the beginning? There are so many ways to do so.
  • Read the Bible
  • Listen to the Bible
  • Pray
  • Sit and think of your blessings
  • Sing worship or praise songs or hymns
What matters is that we are reaching out to God—specifically to Jesus. He's the One who made a relationship with God possible for us.

Don't wait. Do it now. Speak the name Jesus. Then just talk. It doesn't have to be fancy. Just speak to Him like you would to a good friend or loved one. He's waiting.

God bless you all!

My Spring Bucket List 2023 ~ Updated!

Getting things done is often one part work and two parts focus.

~smile~
My Bucket Lists help me to focus on the things that I want to do that aren't part of my daily routine. They also remind me to have a little fun and
enjoy the season!

I will change the listings to italics as I cross them off the list.
Please check back on my progress! It keeps me accountable.

  • Thrift some baby things

I may add or subtract as I go, but it's a start! My bucket lists and reading lists inspire me and help me to enjoy life and get things done. I hope these lists will inspire you to make your own list! I know some items will be passed on to my summer bucket list, but it is motivating!

What will you put on your bucket list?

What is on your reading list?

Be blessed!
