Sending You a Little Christmas

    Hello everyone! So, how's it coming along?

    Today, the 6th, was my deadline for Christmas decorating. As often is the case, the best laid plans of mice and moms often go awry. ~smile~ I did a ton of laundry today. Blankets and towels along with the regular laundry. I once heard it called Mount Neverest. I thought that would end when my kids left home. Nope, there's still plenty. ~smile~ 

    Anyhow, I've got just a little more decorating to do. I want to put up my porch tree and maybe a tree or two inside. Yes, if I had it my way, I'd have a tree in every room. I just love the twinkly lights. Whatever I don't finish tomorrow will have to wait until next year.

    One thing I say often is, "It is what it is." I'm sure your decor is lovely. I find that I always want to do more, but there comes a point where it's time to just enjoy.

    I agree about the laundry! I rejoice when it's all done, which last for maybe an hour. *smile*

    Hello! Yes, that laundry pile never gets any smaller! I wonder how I did it when I had a houseful!! Enjoy decorating!!!

      I lost track of how many loads of laundry I did yesterday. It spanned about 13 or 14 hours though!

My Spicy Can Opener Soup was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas!

Just had to share this with you again.   My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook.  I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup.  They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same.   I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book .  Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks.  I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half.
